Christyn Betancourt

Catching frogs, overnight stays in a tent and the delicious food are Christyn Betancourt's favorite things about camp! The 13-year-old first attended Camp Hayden-Marks Memorial three years ago and this past summer went to Camp Tommy; a transition he made with many of his camp friends when they aged out of Hayden-Marks.

Like so many campers, Christyn has made life-long friendships during his two-week stays at camp. Christyn has fun telling stories at night with the other boys in his cabin and playing board games together. He also likes his counselors. "They're really supportive, especially if anyone is scared or homesick," Christyn explains.

Christyn also likes the opportunity at camp to learn new things. He enjoys swimming, basketball, canoeing, campfires and hiking during his stay. Christyn also has learned how to juggle at camp and used his skills to win the talent contest at his church!
