Alumni Network

"Visiting my host family provided a cultural exchange that I wouldn't have had a as a city child...and the older you get, the more appreciative you are of the people and experiences you were exposed to at a young age."

Note: The alumni network is looking for photos from hosts, former Fresh Air children or anyone who has previously participated in one of The Fund's programs for a new 'Alumni Photo Gallery.' If you have pictures you would like to contribute of past Fresh Air experiences or if you would like to share a present-day update through photos, please send them to pr@freshair.org!

During the spring of 2008, The Fresh Air Fund started its first-ever alumni network.  More than 1.7 million New York City children have participated in either our camping or Friendly Town programs since The Fresh Air Fund began in 1877.

The Fresh Air Fund will incorporate alumni into several areas of the organization's operations from volunteering at camp or in the office, to tutoring a student in the Career Awareness Program, to spreading the word as part of The Fund's outreach program.  It is a priority for The Fund to give alumni an ever-expanding role and to become deeply involved in Fund activities.

The Fresh Air Fund is in the process of collecting names of anyone and everyone over 18 years of age who has participated in our programs.  If you are interested in becoming part of the network, please fill out this registration form.

Please note: If you participated in Summer Camping or the Friendly Town program prior to 1987, it may take longer to access individual records. Thank you in advance for your patience.
