Outreach Calling Nights
Help call parents of Fresh Air Fund children to keep them updated with current registration and departure information. Pizza, soda and good company are provided. Outreach Calling Nights are typically scheduled on weekday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pizza Party Stuffing Nights
Join a group of volunteers at The Fund’s midtown office to send out flyers, assemble registration packets and compile mailings to all of the communities The Fund works with. Pizza Party Stuffing Nights are scheduled on weekday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Join the NYC Friendly Town Committee
Committee members support the Friendly Town program in NYC. Each year the Friendly Town program arranges for nearly 5,000 children to visit volunteer host families in rural and suburban communities. Fresh Air children stay for one week or more in over 300 Friendly Towns across 13 Northeastern states from Virginia to Maine and Canada. While there are no hosts in NYC, there is a large group of hosts who live in NYC and host a child at a summer vacation home. Volunteers are needed to plan special events, interview prospective hosts, check references, escort/chaperone buses for trips in the near vicinity of NYC, and help with public relations and outreach. Training will be provided for all committee members.
Daytime Help
Volunteers have the opportunity to help with a variety of projects throughout the organization. If you have a few hours a week to donate or want to volunteer on a regular basis, The Fund’s staff can work with you to coordinate a flexible schedule.
Volunteer Student Interns
Looking to learn more about working at a non-profit organization, or need an internship for school credit? Applicants must be 18 or older. Please e-mail volunteer@freshair.org for an internship application.
Pro-Bono Projects
Donate your time and professional expertise - The Fund is always looking for pro-bono photographers, graphic designers, and more! Please also let us know if your company can donate in-kind printing services or has other services to donate.
